From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (10-15 minutes)
You can take the Metro, a taxi, or a car from this airport to the MPR office. If you use the Metro, take either the Yellow Line toward Huntington or the Blue Line toward Franconia/Springfield. Both stop at the King Street Station, which is the Metro stop closest to MPR. It is approximately a 7 minute ride and the fare will be $1.30 during peak (5:30 - 9:30 am and 3:00 - 7:00 pm) or $1.20 during all other times.
To take a taxi, go to the nearest taxi stand and ask to be taken to 320 King Street, Alexandria.
To take a rental car, go to the rental counter of your choice. Reagan National has Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, and Dollar on site and Enterprise, Alamo, and Thrifty off site. Once you have your car, follow the directions below to get to MPR. Also, see the map.
- Follow signs for Old Town Alexandria and proceed south from the airport on the George Washington (GW) Parkway, which turns into Washington Street.
- Take a left onto Madison Street.
- Take a right onto Fairfax Street.
- Take a right onto King Street.
- MPR is immediately on left between Fairfax and Royal Streets.
From Dulles International Airport (45-60 minutes)
From Dulles, the best option is to drive a rental car to Alexandria. Dulles Airport has Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National on site. Thrifty is available with advance reservations as they do not have a facility at the airport. Once you have your car, follow the directions below to get to MPR. Also, see the map.
- Take the Dulles Access Road towards Washington, DC.
- Follow signs for I-495, South (towards Richmond)
- Take Route 1 (Patrick Street) North to King Street
- Turn Right onto King Street and go 6 blocks
- MPR is located on King Street, between Fairfax and Royal Streets (one block down from Holiday Inn)

From Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) (50-70 minutes)
The best option would be to drive a rental car, but you can also take Amtrak.
If you use a rental car, the available rental agencies are Avis, Alamo, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty. Once you have your car, follow the directions below to get to MPR. Also, see the map.
- Take the Baltimore/Washington Parkway, South
- Follow signs for I-495/I-95 South (towards Richmond)
- Cross the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge into Virginia
- Take the Route 1 exit, and take the first exit ramp for Mount Vernon/George Washington Parkway
- Turn left (at light) onto George Washington Parkway and go 9 blocks
- Turn Right onto King Street and go 3 blocks
- MPR is located at 320 King Street, between Fairfax and Royal Streets (one block down from the Holiday Inn)
To use Amtrak, take the train to the Alexandria station (which is located adjacent to the King Street Metro station). MPR is 15 blocks east on King Street.
Via Rental Car
The closest place to MPR to get a rental car is the Washington Reagan National Airport. The on-site rental cars include Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, and Dollar. Off-site, but near the airport, are Enterprise, Alamo, and Thrifty.
Via Metro
From anywhere within the Metro system, take the Yellow or Blue Metro lines to the King Street Station. MPR is located 14 blocks east (approximately 1 mile) of the King Street Metro Station on King Street.
Via Amtrak
Take Amtrak to the Alexandria Train Station. MPR is located 15 blocks east (approximately 1 mile) of the Old Town Alexandria Station on King Street. On weekends, take Amtrak to Union Station, Washington, D.C. and then the Metro to the King Street station stop.
Taxi and Bus
Taxi and Bus Service (to stops on King Street within a block of MPR) are available at the Amtrak/Metro Stations. There is also a taxi stand outside the Holiday Inn, 1 block from MPR.
