MPR's headquarters is in picturesque Old Town, Alexandria. Located directly across the river from Washington, DC, Alexandria has a rich history dating back to its days as a colonial seaport. George Washington lived here, and the local taverns were favorite gathering places for many of America's founding fathers, including Thomas Jefferson. More than 4,000 historic buildings, many dating from pre-revolutionary days and unique shops, restaurants, art galleries and antique dealers can be found throughout the downtown area.
