Spent Fuel Shipping and Storage
MPR engineers had primary responsibility for the design and development of the Navy's multi-purpose M130 spent fuel shipping cask. We also participated in the design and oversight of refueling operations in early shipboard nuclear plants. As a follow-on to the M130 cask development and use, MPR personnel were responsible for the conversion from wet-shipping to dry-shipping of spent fuel.
